Air hoists utilize compressed air in order to operate. They normally contain a piston rod and a cylinder, which are fired when the compressed air is pushed into the device. Like manual hoists, the air hoists can be used in areas that sometimes are not the best environments to use an electric hoist in. Most often this would be a situation where there is a high level of heat. High heat can affect the use of electric hoists, as well as put the individuals who are using them in harm's way.
